The Cell
A Eukaryotic cell has lots and lots of organelles that do a specific job to make the cell function correctly in an organism. In the picture below you can see some of these organelles.
The organelles and other important items are going to be listed through the pages alphabetically starting with c.
The Cell Membrane
The cell membrane is located surrounding the cell. It has pores that allow things to enter and exit the cell. The cell membrane is also filled phospholipids and protects the cell. It is involved with everything in the cell by being able allow the enter and exit of things like how a mitochondrianneeds food or in plants the chloroplasts need sunlight for photosynthesis. In the picture below it is listed under the name the cell wall.

Cell wall are only located plant cells because they have cellulose and animal cells cannot use that at all. The cell wall is located surrounding the cell outside the cell membrane. In the diagram to the right of a plant cell the cell wall is listed at the top. It protects the cell with its structure.
Centrioles

Centrioles are located just outside the nucleus. They are composed of microtubules and microfilaments and in the cell they are to generate the cell's cytoskeleton. They also are the organizing center for the cell. they work with
Chloroplasts

Chloroplasts are only used in plant cells. They are located in the cytoplasm of the plant cell. They store energy from sunlight to cause the process of photosynthesis so the plant gets energy. In the chloroplast are stacks called granum made up of thylakoid.
Chromosomes and Chromatin

Chromosomes are made of chromatin wrapped around nistine proteins. the picture to the left is of a chromosome. A chromatin is unwound DNA so not nicely wound like a chromosome. They are located in the nucleus and contain genetic information to make everything for the cell.
Cilia and Flagella
![Picture](/uploads/1/3/8/0/13802755/915951982.jpg?392)
They are located extended from the cell membrane. Cilia is short hair like extensions where flagella is long hair like extensions. Cilia is used to move water past the cell and collect foreign objects. Flagella is important to the movement of organelles in the cell. In the picture to the right the flagella is to the left and cilia is to the right.
Cytoplasm
![Picture](/uploads/1/3/8/0/13802755/105877214.jpg?388)
Cytoplasm is everywhere in the cell surrounding the organelles. It is a jelly like substance. It is like the home for the cytoskeleton.
Cytoskeleton

The microtubules of the cytoskeleton in the cytoplasm and so are the microfilaments. Microtubules are long hollow tubuls made of protein and are used to help out the organelles. Microfilaments are threadlike, solid, and composed of proteins and are used to support the cell and are involved in muscle contraction.
